This module uses the PCF8574, which enables most MCUs to implement remote I/O port expansion via bidirectional buses. It includes an 8-bit quasi-bidirectional port and an I2C bus interface, which allows easy connection of LCD1602 or LCD2004 screens to microcontrollers using just two data lines. This rotary version is compact and efficient for saving GPIO pins.
